Phones do not come with a case to hold, which is a disappointment considering how much each phone costs. For some reason Nokia only sells OEM cases for these phones to the European market, if you go to Amazon UK site or Nokia EU site you will see cases made for N900 and C6, so I had to go to Amazon UK site to order an OEM case for N900; the C6 on Nokia EU site has some nice ones but could not find them on Amazon UK and on Nokia EU site I cannot order them online being from the USA as you need to go to a retail location in Europe.

The other major issue is I use Google calendar, right now you can use MS exchange to set up google mail, calendar and contacts but it imports ALL of my gmail contacts into my C6 even though I don’t actively keep in touch with all of them, I suppose you can choose to update only calendar and gmail and skip the contacts, don’t remember if this is an option. The calendar also only updates my main Calendar so others I created, including Holidays calendars, bill due date calendars, etc do NOT get imported. Anyway my workaround is to use instead of MS Exchange option on Nokia to add Google accounts like gmail and calendar, etc, I used the “Gmail” option via the email icon to set up the email account and it works well. As for Google calendar, there is a Google Mobile site and one bookmark webpage you can set up is for Google Calendar, so for my Internet application I set my default homepage as the Google calendar address so when I want to look at ALL (holidays, bills, color coded too) of my Google calendars I just open up that bookmarked web page homepage and it is there updated in real time by Google.

Overall I am happy with the Nokia, good size, small bar type smart phone, good looking, quality materials.

Unfortunately, it runs on Symbian S60 5th edition, rather than the newer Symbian^3 OS. It’s also looking a bit off the current trends with its resistive touchscreen.

When it was announced, Nokia promised a retail price of 225 US dollars (170 euro) before taxes for the C5-03, while current online offers go at about 290 US dollars. We are assuming that retailers are just charging an early adopters’ fee and those prices will go down in time for Christmas, though.

At that point you will be left with an affordable handset with access to the Ovi store and free lifetime voice-guided navigation. Not to mention the wide range of available bright colors, which will be appreciated by the younger crowd.

This is all fine and dandy, but the Nokia device that everyone wants to see released before Christmas is the E7. Let’s hope the Finns won’t let us down.

Nokia had recently unveiled another top end phone to the N-Series category, the N82. N82 is said to be the successor to the top end and popular model N95. Is it really the successor to N95, lets check it. N82 has a lot of additional features which were not available in N73. N95 and N73 were 2 of the most popular N-Series phone.

One of the major problems with N95 is the size, it was too big and difficult to use although it had all the features not available in other phones. The 5MP camera is similar to N95 with CarlZeiss lens which can capture MPEG-4 VGA video at 30 frames per second. The best part of camera is the addition of xenon flash which was missing in N95 (N95 had a LED flash). The display of N82 is also good, the screen is 2.4-inch compared to the 2.6-inch screen on N95. The only weakness is laid on its keyboard. The keys are too small and difficult to handle and it’s pretty similar to the one in N73.
