Dual mic technology is the newest breakthrough in cutting edge headsets and quality audio products. This Plantronics Voyager Pro is one of the best I’ve tried but does have minor flaws. If not for that, this headset probably would’ve gotten 5 stars.

The Voyager Pro indeed has superior audio quality. No, this headset doesn’t magically remove the barking dogs keeping only my voice for the caller to hear.

Dual mic technology is really popping up everywhere. Every dual mic product I have is superior to every product I’ve tried with only 1 mic.

The boom mic on the Voyager Pro positions the dual mics closer to my mouth and callers say they can hear me loud and clear, as if I were in the next room. I credit that to Plantronics established reputation with headsets. With other headsets, pressing the call answer button activates voice commands on my phone, but with the Voyager Pro, all I can do is answer a call or redial the last number dialed.

UPDATE — voice dialing does work. By contrast, this Voyager Pro only confirms battery and mute status.

I have been using cell phones for nearly 24 years, the first 14 as a part time salesman. Most of those years have been with the “B” carrier which is now AT&T. Except for using my wife’s iPhone, this is my first touch screen phone. The main reason for purchasing the Atrix was it is a 4G phone and its “Lapdock” accessory. It is a great device and should easily replace my basic needs of having to travel with a heavier laptop. The ports do not support card readers (SD to USB) or cameras. When attempting to open these devices a not compatible or “unmountable” message appears. After scanning the Motorola support site and receiving two computer generated emails which led me back to the support site, I finally had my suspicions confirmed by a lengthy call to a Motorola support tech.

The phone is beautiful, fast, responsive, etc. The Atrix shows me speeds of 1800 Kbps and the iPad shows me a 200Kbps speed, what??? That evening, I tried the feature with my home laptop instead of the iPad and guess what, it works fine, the laptop speed is comparable to the speed I was getting on the phone itself (so tethering worked on my laptop).

Both At&t reps and Motorola suggested I return the phone (Ha?, I could not believe that).  If you switch from unlimited plan to $45 tethering plan you will loose the unlimited and not be able to go back, even if you return the phone.
